Small group training

PERSONAL ATTENTION. SERIOUS RESULTS.

Small-group training is limited to six athletes, allowing every participant to receive direct instruction, detailed feedback, and a program tailored to their sport, goals, mechanics, and current performance level.

Built for Athletes
Who Want More.

Small-group training gives athletes the energy and motivation of training alongside others while preserving the personal attention.

Each athlete follows an individualized plan within the group environment. Sessions are designed to improve speed, power, strength, agility, mobility, endurance, and movement quality based on the athlete’s sport and physical needs.

The small-group format encourages athletes to challenge themselves, support their teammates, and become more accountable for their development.

Coach Mathew Schumer completely changed my athletic career through his determination. In just one year, he helped drop my 60-yard dash time from 7.5 to 6.8 seconds through his knowledge of speed development and explosive power, which ultimately helped me to earn a collegiate baseball scholarship. If you're willing to put in the work, Coach Schumer knows exactly how to help you reach your potential.

frequently asked questions

What Athletes & Parents Ask Most

What are the benefits of small-group speed training?

Small group training is a great way to have a fun and competitive training experience while still being in an intimate enough environment to get individualized coaching

How many athletes are in each training group?

A maximum of 6

How do you provide individual coaching within a group?

By keeping the groups at 6 or fewer I’m able to have an eye on everyone and see what drills/movements they may need extra assistance with.

Are athletes grouped by age, ability, sport, or performance level?

By performance and experience level

How is small-group training different from school or team conditioning?

The small group size creates a more hands-on and detail-oriented style of training. Plus everything is measured.

Should my athlete choose private or small-group training?

Private training is best for serious athletes who are looking for 100% attention and accountability on them or who may need extra time focusing on a specific detail that may not get as much time during a group session. ie. A track athlete who needs to spend more time on speed endurance or a volleyball player who wants extra jump training. It is also great for athletes just starting out who want to get faster results when it comes to building sprint technique. Group training provides a similar experience plus the added benefits of being able to compete and see how you stack up with your peers.
