frequently asked questions
Questions. Answers. Better Performance.
Who benefits most from one-on-one speed training?
Athletes who are serious about their goals and want a high level of attention to detail and accountability. It is also very beneficial for athletes who are new to sprint training and want to expedite the process of adjusting their technique by getting 100% of the coaching attention and more rep opportunities.
What happens during a private speed training session?
This will vary depending on the athlete’s sports, level of development and individual strengths and weaknesses. It will typically consist of a dynamic warmup, some sort of sprint technique training, max effort sprinting and jumping.
How do you evaluate an athlete and create an individualized training program?
We start with doing a comprehensive assessment where we measure performance variables like sprint speed and vertical jump. We also take videos to evaluate the athlete’s movement strategies. Based off the data and movement videos we get, we create the program based on what the athlete’s strength and weaknesses are and what the demands of their sport entail.
What areas can private training improve—speed, acceleration, agility, and running mechanics?
It will improve all of the above
How often should an athlete attend private training?
Varies depending on the time of year. Can be anywhere from 1 session per week while an athlete is in season up to 3 or 4 sessions during the offseason. 2 is the ideal sweet spot.
How do you measure and track an athlete’s improvement?
We track with GPS devices, timing gates, and jump measuring tools.
